inspections. From the very beginning, he was responsive, available, flexible when we requested to change the date of our inspection, and had an open line of communication.
Initially, because he is a newer home inspector and we were looking at a home that had visible deferred maintenance, we were hesitant to use him. However, after being onsite with him during the inspection and after receiving the inspection report, we decided we will use him indefinitely.
Included in our inspection was the house, an outbuilding (shop), and a septic scope from the house to the tank. The outbuilding and the septic added addition cost to the inspection but it was with it! The outbuilding inspection showed rotten spots in the roof that we were unaware of and the septic scope uncovered a sewage blockage that backed up to the house, a full tank, and even excessive grease in the tank.
Kirk asked us what our major concerns were before beginning the inspection and was available for questions during the inspection. He was immensely thorough and did not rush over any detail. It’s worth noting that all of his equipment that he brings is extremely organized and well maintained.
The report he composed and sent was thorough, easy to navigate, concise, and gave detailed suggestions about how to proceed with any concerning issues.
We are so grateful for Kirk’s effort, attention to detail, and overall assessment because it allowed us to understand the actual condition of the house and make an educated decision for our family. Honestly, it saved us from paying top dollar for a house that needed more work than we anticipated.
